Our CLUB

The Maitland Saints was established in 2007 by a dedicated group of people looking to enhance availability to the game of AFL in the Hunter Region.

​

Initially the Maitland Saints AFC was established as a Junior AFL Club, with seniors commencing in 2012. Our Club has grown exponentially over the last 13 or so years, to now incorporate junior male and female, and senior male and female teams in the Hunter Coast AFL Competitions.

Governed by an active and committed board, with robust policies and procedures, the Club offers an inclusive experience for all members.

​

With 14 teams registered in the Hunter Coast AFL competition, our Club boasts one of the largest memberships outside of the Sydney competition. Our player numbers have increased from 37 in our very first year to over 330 in 2021, which is more than an 800% increase!

We are very proud and passionate Novocastrians and Hunter People, who are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing space for all who wish to play AFL, keep fit and have fun.

We have built a solid community from humble beginnings, and are extremely lucky to have a hard-working board and committees who develop robust policies and procedures that underpin the daily operations of this ever-growing AFL Club.
